The underwater hull as a system
Antifouling is the last coat of a system, not a standalone job. Its performance depends on a sound primer and barrier coat underneath, a compatible tie coat where switching products, correct film thickness and the right product for the yacht's speed and cruising area. Running gear such as propellers and shafts needs its own foul-release treatment.

- Application records: temperature, humidity and film thickness logged in our paint application reports.
- Propellers and running gear: reviewed as part of the underwater programme, with the foul-release option agreed with the owner or captain.

Do you apply antifouling on superyachts?
Yes, as part of underwater system work. Our record includes new underwater systems on S/Y Merrymaid (34 m) and S/Y Douce France (42 m), the underwater area on M/Y Sea Pearl (60 m), and a new Hempel underwater system on S/Y Mirabella V.
Do you apply Propspeed?

How often should a superyacht be antifouled?
It depends on the antifouling product, the yacht's operating pattern and the waters she lies in; follow the manufacturer's data sheet and the hull survey.
Can antifouling be applied in tropical humidity?
Yes, within the product's application limits. We record temperature and humidity during application and plan coats around the manufacturer's overcoating windows.
